■US Consulate Visa Information Session
NAIST invited Visa Outreach Coordinator Tomoko Takatori to give a US visa information session titled "American Visas for Researchers and Students" to our faculty and staff on March 7, 2014.
Visas and their application process differ with the purpose and length of stay in the US, but this session focused on the F-1 (student), J-1 (exchange visitor) and B1/B2 (business or tourism) visas. Visa Outreach Coordinator gave a thorough and clear explanation of the visa system, which is based on very complex US immigration law, and answered questions the faculty and staff had concerning visa application.
We appreciate her visiting NAIST and the session was very helpful in further understanding what is necessary and what takes place in the visa process for researchers and students.
