On June 3, 2014, Vice-Rector Benoit Macq, Université catholique de Louvain (UCL) (Belgium) visited to NAIST.
At a courtesy visit to NAIST, Vice President and Executive Director Mikio Kataoka, Dean of Graduate School of Information Science Tsukasa Ogasawara, and the Center for International Relations Director Steven Nishida welcomed Vice-Rector Benoit Macq, and they shared information and exchanged opinions concerning further exchanges and activities.
After that, Vice-Rector Macq met with Dean Ogasawara to discuss joint research in the field of Robotics. Following the meeting, Director Nishida and TLO Manager Yoshikazu Nishiura of the Center for Industry-Government-Academia Collaboration exchanged information with Vice-Rector Macq regarding the prospects of future technology transfer, including an introduction of UCL’s Technology Transfer Office and Japan Welcome Office.
This was a beneficial opportunity for both sides to strengthen relationships and encourage future cooperation between UCL and NAIST.
