On July 3, 2014, the Center for International Relations held the Global Campus Event "NAIST Tea Time #4" with more than 80 students, faculty and staff attending. In accordance with the "NAIST Globalization Strategic Plan 2011" and accompanying "Action Plan", Global Campus Events are aimed at strengthening NAIST's on-campus community and fostering increased mutual understanding and familiarity among NAIST's diverse population of students, faculty and staff.

The event started with students from Malaysia introducing a Malaysian tea called "Teh Tarik" and tea-drinking culture in their home country. Three students demonstrated how to make the "Teh Tarik": tea and milk are poured through the air between two containers until it reaches a rich, frothy texture.

After the demonstration, the tea and snacks imported directly from Malaysia were served to all the attendees. The attendees enjoyed the delightful aroma of tea, communicating with the participants in the event.
