On August 3-4, 2012, a delegation from NAIST visited Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) in the Philippines. NAIST has established a strong partnership with AdMU with its students entering NAIST’s Graduate School of Information Science, interns in all three of the graduate schools and a history of research exchange and collaboration. The delegation consisted of Noriko Ito, Director of the Center for International Relations, and faculty and students from the Graduate School of Information and the Graduate School of Materials Science (Prof. Hiroyuki Seki, Prof. Shigehiko Kanaya, Prof. Kazushi Ikeda, Prof. Keiichi Yasumoto, Prof. Kiyomi Kakiuchi, Prof. Hisao Yanagi, Prof. Jun Ohta, Ms. Jovilyn Fajardo and Ms. Maricris Marimon).
The delegation paid a courtesy visit to the AdMU President and the Vice President for University and Global Relations, visited laboratories, participated in discussions with AdMU faculty, and held a symposium introducing NAIST and its research in order to further develop our current relationship. Through the two days consisting of firsthand tours and presentations from AdMU, and the introduction of NAIST’s educational programs and research, both sides gained a deeper understanding of each institution.
