CIR participated in the JASSO Educational Fair (July 20th)
Venue: Taipei World Trade Center, Taiwan
JASSO: Japan Student Services Organization held the 2014-2015 Japan Educational Fairs in Taipei, for students who wish to study in Japan. NAIST participated in this event for the second year in a row. We aimed to attract a wider variety of excellent students from our 74 partner institutions and beyond.
This year, GSMS Professor Hiroshi Daimon, GSMS Professor Jun Ohta, Section Chief of Student Affairs Division Tadashi Nakano, CIR International Activities Coordinator Junko Iwatsuki, and GSIS 2nd year master’s student Sung-Yu Huang promoted NAIST at the booth exhibition in the JASSO Education Fair in Taipei. Sung-Yu made this a successful event by sharing his first-hand experience as an international student from Taiwan to the students and guardians who visited our booth.
CIR and the NAIST delegates visited NCTU, Shinchu (July 21st)
NAIST initially had a department-level academic exchange between GSMS and NCTU College of Science since March, 2009, which was later expanded to an institution-level agreement in May, 2010.
NAIST delegates paid a courtesy visit to the Associate Vice President, Office of International Affairs Professor Chia-Ching-Chan, and received an introduction to the university. CIR International Activities Coordinator Junko Iwatsuki then gave a NAIST introduction, followed by GSMS Professor Hiroshi Daimon, giving a GSMS introduction. NCTU Deans then gave individual introductions from all three colleges; College of Science, College of Electrical and Computer Engineering, and College of Photonics. All members then visited laboratories related to materials science.
Later we discussed further educational collaborations, which deepened our relationship with NCTU.
