DGE Director Sachi Ando attended the NAFSA 2017 Conference & Expo* in Los Angeles, California, to strengthen relationships with our partner institutions, as well as to obtain information on current trends in international education.
On May 31, two posters entitled “Designing Faculty and Staff Development Programs for Campus Internationalization” and “Mobilizing International Alumni Network for Student Recruitment” were presented respectively to introduce NAIST’s internationalization efforts. Visitors to the booth shared their positive feedback and asked the presenter for suggestions to improve their campus environments.
On June 2, Director Ando visited UC Davis for a meeting with Interim Provost Kenneth Burtis to review NAIST’s internationalization efforts, and for a meeting with Paula Khodaverdi (Program Coordinator at UC Davis Extension) to discuss this year’s FD and SD programs. UC Davis is a long-standing partner university, with which we have developed numerous academic and research programs together over the years.
