NAIST's secluded campus is located in a pleasant rural area within historic Nara Prefecture, but head to a nearby station and you can be in Osaka, Japan's second largest city, or Kyoto, known for its traditional architecture and culture, in only 40 minutes. In addition to academic and research facilities, the campus is well-equipped to serve all aspects of student life, with a comprehensive library, cafeteria, Health Care Center, guesthouse and sports facilities. International students enrolled in the master's and doctoral courses have priority to enter the reasonable dormitories located on-campus, which allow them to focus on their studies and research.
