Off-campus medical treatment
For those who are enrolled in the National Health Insurance you can visit most medical facilities and the insurance will cover roughly 70% of the treatment and medicine costs. For those without insurance or with insurance from outside of Japan, usually the full amount of the treatment and medicine are paid and then you are reimbursed after applying to the insurance company to which you purchased insurance. Please see the list of cooperating medical facilities in the appendix of the International Student Handbook for specific hospital details.
