The delegation consisted of Dr. Chein Tai (President of Southern Taiwan University), Dr. Yu-Ming Chang (Dean of College of Digital Design) and Ms. Mei-Ling Cheng (Instructor Director of Academic Exchange Division, Office of International Affairs). Our exchange agreement concluded last year made this visit possible. Both schools hope for further development in our relationship for years to come.
At a courtesy visit, President Isogai and Executive Director Shinmyo welcomed them and exchanged opinions. First they gave the general introduction of NAIST, and then talked about the current situation of both universities.. They also discussed the possibility of further exchange. After that, Tadashi Saito (International Relations Coordinator of the Division for Industry-Government-Academia Collaboration) explained our policy regarding collaboration between industry, government, and academia.
Following this Professor Daimon (Dean of the Graduate School of Material Science) introduced some of NAIST's research. The delegates also visited the BioNano Laboratory and Laboratory of Bioenergetics and Biophysics. In this visit, the delegation was able to gain sense of our education and research environment and we had the opportunity to deepen our newly started friendship.
