On December 5, 2016, President Jean-Pierre Vinel and Vice President Fabrice Dumas from University Paul Sabatier (UPS, France), and Dr. Isabelle Sasaki from Centre National de la Recherche Scientifique (France) visited NAIST.

During the courtesy visit to NAIST, Vice President/Executive Director Mikio Kataoka, Visiting Professor Gwenael Rapenne, Division for Research Strategy Associate Professor/URA Masato Miyake, and Division for Global Education Director Tsutomu Hashida welcomed President Vinel and the delegates and introduced NAIST. They also shared information about and discussed further collaboration in education and research.

Then, the delegates visited the Graduate Schools of Information Science (GSIS), Biological Sciences (GSBS), and Materials Science (GSMS). Dean of GSIS Tsukasa Ogasawara, Vice Dean of GSBS Takashi Hashimoto, and Dean of GSMS Kiyomi Kakiuchi introduced their schools and research.

This was a beneficial opportunity for both sides to strengthen relationships and encourage future cooperation between UPS and NAIST.
