In consideration of the spreading of the new coronavirus infection, NAIST has decided to cancel the master's course 2020 fall admission 2^nd entrance examination and the master's course 2021 spring admission 1^st entrance examination (includes both NAIST and Tokyo examinations) whose application periods were to start from June 8, 2020.

However, instead of these two new master's course entrance examinations are now being scheduled, the master's course 2020 fall admission 2^nd entrance examination (online interview) and the master's course 2021 spring admission 1^st entrance examination (online interview).
(The planned examination period is from late July until early August.)

Online interviews will be conducted through an online conference system using the applicants' Internet environment (via PC, smart phone, etc.). There is no need to travel to NAIST for the interview, thus reduces the risk of infection. Before conducting the online interview, we will provide opportunities for each applicant to check their Internet connection and environment in advance.

The Admission Information and Application Guide for this new entrance examination (online interview) will be published on our website (https://www.naist.jp/en/international_students/prospective_students/admission_information/guidelines_for_masters.html) on Monday, May 18, 2020. The new Admission Information and Application Guide will include changes to the application period, examination period, and application documents, and information concerning the equipment and environments required to perform the online interview.

The information published in the Admission Information and Application Guides for the master's course 2020 fall admission 2^nd entrance examination and master's course 2021 spring admission 1^st entrance examination is no longer valid (Information concerning the remaining entrance examinations, for the 2021 spring 2^nd and 3^rd examinations and 2021 fall 1^st examination, is still valid at this point)*. If you intend to apply for the new entrance examination (online interview), please download the guide (to be published on Monday, May 18, 2020) and prepare the necessary documents. However the certificates the applicants must prepare in advance such as Graduation Certificates, Transcripts and Documents verifying English proficiency will still be required for the new entrance examination (online interview). Please be sure to prepare them in advance, and if you've already prepared them, keep them until the application period begins.

*The 2021 Admission Information and Application Guide for the master's course contains information concerning four examinations, the 2021 spring 1^st, 2^nd, and 3^rd examinations, and the 2021 fall 1^st examination. The information for 2021 spring 2^nd and 3^rd examinations and the 2021 fall 1^st examination are still valid as of this announcement, but this may change due to future developments.
