On February 9th one NAIST staff member described below was confirmed as being infected with the new coronavirus.

• Age: 40's
• Sex: Male
• Work location: Nara Institute of Science and Technology
         (8916-5 Takayama-cho, Ikoma, Japan)
• Symptoms: Developed a fever on Saturday, February 6th, took a PCR test on Monday, February 8th and was confirmed as infected on Tuesday, February 9th

We wish for the staff member's speedy recovery and NAIST's Crisis Measures Headquarters will continue to take measures to prevent the spread of infection based on the national and prefectural government policies.
