Delegation from Thailand Hub of Talents in Microelectronic Design (THTMD）in Thailand Visited NAIST（2025/12/16）

 

On Tuesday, December 16, a delegation from the Thailand Hub of Talents in Microelectronic Design (THTMD）visited our university. During the courtesy visit, the delegation was welcomed by Dr. Shiozaki Kazuhiro (President), Dr. Ohta Jun (Executive Director/Vice President), Dr. Maki Hisaji (Deputy Director, Strategic Initiative for Global Leadership Development), Prof. Ajiro Hiroharu (Advisor to the President for International Affairs), Prof. Uraoka Yukiharu (Division of Materials Science), Prof. Sasagawa Kiyotaka (Division of Materials Science), Prof. Nakamura Masakazu (Division of Materials Science), Prof. Tomiya Shigetaka (Data Science Center), Assoc. Prof. Hara Kosuke (Division of Materials Science), and Assoc. Prof. Bermundo Juan Paolo Soria (URA, Strategic Initiative for Global Leadership Development).

 

In the opening address, Dr. Shiozaki emphasized our university's longstanding commitment to research in the fields of semiconductors and microelectronics, expressing his hope that this visit would open the door to future collaboration.

 

Following that, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Woradorn Wattanapanitch (a member of THTMD Working Group, Kasetsart University) introduced the organization and members of THTMD. He also described its role as a national hub for advancing research in microelectronics and outlined its initiatives beyond the boundaries of individual universities and institutions.

 

In a lively discussion on future collaborations, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Woradorn further explained the structure of THTMD, in which experts from multiple fields work together, and expressed his expectations for broad and interdisciplinary collaboration.

 

The delegation then toured facilities and laboratories specializing in Materials Science. During the tour, they discussed the potential for various forms of academic and research collaboration with NAIST faculty members.

 

This visit is anticipated to further promote active exchanges and strengthen collaboration between the two institutions in the near future.
