On Friday, July 17, the FY2026 Staff Overseas Training Debriefing Session was held, with 28 attendees gathering to hear participants share their experiences.
The Overseas Staff Development (SD) Training Program, established in 2007, supports the University's efforts to internationalize its education and research activities and foster a global campus environment. Through this program, administrative and technical staff have opportunities to visit overseas universities and develop a strong international perspective, intercultural competencies, and effective communication skills.
One staff member was dispatched to the Hawaii Tokai International College (HTIC) in the U.S. from December 1 to 13, 2025. During this training, the participant took part in a practical English program and conducted interviews with staff members in HTIC and nearby universities based on their own research theme.
During the debriefing session, the participant presented insights from interviews focused on the theme of donations and external funding management.
In addition, one staff member participated in the UniTrento International Staff Week, held at the University of Trento in Italy from May 11 to 15, 2026. The program provided opportunities to engage in discussions with participants from around the world and to contribute to an international study-abroad fair, fostering meaningful global exchanges and professional networking.
At the debriefing session, key insights gained through discussions with participants from around the world were presented, along with outcomes achieved through exchanges with a staff at the University of Trento.
We will continue our efforts to develop human resources who can work globally through practical training.
