受賞情報科学領域ヒューマンロボティクス研究室奈良先端大、立命館大学、パナソニック株式会社の合同チームOpenCV AI Competition 2021において、「東アジア+東南アジア地域競技」2位を獲得「OpenCV AI Competition 2021」は、世界的に認められているオープンソースのコンピュータビジョン向けライブラリ「OpenCV」の協賛によるもので、競技会では「グローバル賞」と「地域賞」の2部門が実施されました。本学と立命館大学、パナソニックによる合同チーム「NAIST - RITS - Panasonic」のサブチーム「NaRiPa VisionAIrs」は、今回「地域賞」部門で「東アジア+東南アジア地域」にエントリし、9月6日のビデオ審査にて2位を獲得しました。競技は3D空間のためのAI技術を使用して現実世界の問題を解決するソリューションを提案するものです。「NaRiPa VisionAIrs」チームは、新しいOpenCV AIKit D（OAK- D）カメラを使用して、小売り現場の自動化課題に挑戦しました（OAK- Dは、ニューラル推論とデプス処理機能を搭載したスマートカメラです）。この大会でのロボットのタスクは、コンビニエンスストアの環境下で賞味期限切れになった商品の廃棄をすることでした。最大15倍高速化した物体認識と姿勢検出機能によって、対象物の姿勢によって、ロボットは認識した物をマニピュレーションすることができるようになりました。また、お客様と店員の姿勢を認識しながら、店内を見て回ることもできます。この大会で、コンビニエンスストアでの作業補助ができるサービスロボットのビジョンを披露しました。◆受賞についてのコメントヒューマンロボティクス研究室Gustavo Garcia客員准教授On behalf of Team NaRiPa VisionAIrs, a subgroup of theteam NAIST- RITS-Panasonic, I am very happy to announcethat we have obtained the 2nd place in the“Eastern Asia +South Eastern Asia”region of the OpenCV AI Competition2021, and finished in the top 20 of the Global Prize, whichincludes the winners from all regions across the globe. Thecompetition focused on how to solve real world problems usingspatial AI. We are proud to have had the honor to representtwo Japanese universities and a world-class company in thisinternational competition, as one of 41 contending teams. Wewould like to thank OpenCV for organizing such a fruitful andsuccessful event. Moreover, we would like to thankRitsumeikan University（RITS）, as well as Robotics Hub ofthe Panasonic Corporation for joining us in this amazingadventure. Without their excellent contributions and activecooperation, we could not have achieved this result.
