Institute for Educational Initiatives held international FD webinar in October 6, 2020

 On Tuesday, October 6, 2020, an international FD webinar entitled "Aftermath of COVID-19 and an outlook for international education in New Normal" was held online with invited Dr. Anneli Adams from the University of California, Davis, one of our international partner institutions, as a guest speaker. Considering the spread of COVID-19 bringing about rapid changes in higher education and the resulting new styles of online education and learning being established, this webinar was based on the necessity for educators to reconsider "the functions and mission of education."
 Approximately 20 participants, mainly faculty and doctoral students from not only NAIST but also from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology, actively exchanged opinions on this truly pressing topic throughout the limited time after the guest speaker's lecture. There were also many comments concerning timeliness of the overall theme, with participants expressing much interest in the thought-provoking contents, and that they hope that such international webinars on education and research will be planned continue to this type of meaningful discussion.
