Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia Delegation Visit (2023/12/20)

 On Wednesday, December 20, Dr. Abdul Kahar (Head of Center for Education Financial Services), Prof. Yonny Koesmaryono (Team leader of Kemendikbudristek Scholarship Technical Team) and two other administrative staff members all from Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia visited NAIST.

  At the courtesy visit, Dr. Kazuhiro Shiozaki (President), Prof. Yasumasa Bessho (Director of Division of Biological Science/Indonesia Office Director), Prof. Tomohiro Matsushita (Division of Materials Science), Prof. Hisaji Maki (In charge of International Affairs and International Students), welcomed the delegation.

 In his greetings, President Shiozaki explained the strong network connecting NAIST with many universities in Indonesia , including the Indonesia Office in IPB University and the Indonesian NAIST Alumni Association. Thereafter, there was a lively exchange of opinions about the acceptance of students from Indonesia where both sides confirmed the possibility of further collaboration between Indonesian universities and NAIST in the future.

 The delegation moved to the Bioscience building for a discussion with three NAIST students from Indonesia. First, Professor Maki introduced our system for accepting international students. Then, the students shared their impressions and thoughts about their experiences at NAIST. The delegation was very interested in the honest opinions from the students, and a lively question-and-answer session ensued.

  We hope that this visit will provide an opportunity for further collaboration between NAIST and the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Republic of Indonesia.
