Applicants who have passed the primary screening for 2011 Japanese Government Scholarship at a Japanese Embassy or Consulate and seek enrollment at NAIST will need a Letter of Provisional Acceptance from us. Please request the Letter of Provisional Acceptance by submitting the documents specified below (see 1(1&2)) to the International Student Affairs Section.

3.Academic transcript of each academic year at the last university attended
4.Graduation certificate or degree certificate from the last university attended
5.Recommendation from the president or the supervising professor of the last university attended
6.Recommendation from present employer (if currently employed)
7.Medical certificate
8.Abstracts of theses

[Choosing a supervising professor]
Please choose a supervising professor by following these steps:
1.Review the detailed information on each laboratory on each graduate school's website.
2.Choose the NAIST professor whom you wish to act as your supervising professor
3.Inform us of his/her name on your Letter of Provisional Acceptance request.
If you are not able to decide based on the information found on the website(s), please feel free to contact the International Student Affairs Section at ryugaku@ad.naist.jp.
You may contact professors directly, but please be sure to also send a copy (CC) of your e-mail to the International Affairs Section at ryugaku@ad.naist.jp .

We accept requests received on or before August 31, 2010, only. *
*Please be aware of the submission deadline set by the Japanese Embassy or Consulate and request the Letter of Provisional Acceptance from us well in advance.
*Chinese students who are selected as a preliminary candidate by the Japanese Embassy or Consulate can receive Letter of Acceptance even after August 31.
