The Consul General of UK in Osaka, Mr. Simon Fisher, and Consul, Mr. Edward Thomson visited NAIST on Wednesday, February 16. President Isogai, Executive Director Shinmyo, and Vice President Kakiuchi welcomed the party and they exchanged information and opinions about future research and educational collaboration.

Afterwards, a lunch meeting was held and Mr. Inada, Managing Director of Foundation of Kansai Research Institute, Mr. Hirata, President of ATR, Mr. Nakamura, Director General of Keihanna Research Laboratories, NICT, and Mr. Yamada, Director General of NEC Kansai Research Laboratories also joined the party at the lunch meeting.

This visit was meaningful for both UK and NAIST in tightening their relationship.
