2016/06/10

A one-day excursion to Iga for international students was held on Sunday, June 5, to give students an opportunity to deepen their knowledge of Japanese history and culture, and to develop good relationships with each other.
A group of 37 students first visited Iga Ueno Castle. After touring the tenshu (castle tower) and ishigaki (stone wall), they visited Iga-ryu Ninja Museum. They were impressed by the traps and tricks in the ninja house and the equipment used for ninjutsu (ninja techniques).
Finally, they went to the Iga-yaki Traditional Crafts Center to experience pottery making. After getting advice from the staff, they created their own style of pottery.
The excursion successfully ended with students deepening their knowledge of Japanese history and culture through hands-on experience, and also developed new relationships with other students.
