Director of IRI

Nara Institute of Science and Technology (NAIST)　has endeavored to pursue science and technology and contribute to the society through our global level research activities of three basic fields: Information Science, Biological Sciences and Materials Science and interdisciplinary integration. Moreover, we reorganized Center for Frontier Science and Technology and Center for Industry-Government-Academia Collaboration into the Institute for Research Initiatives (IRI) on April 1, 2015, aiming further strengthening of our research ability and international network.
NAIST commenced The Program for Collaborative Research toward Future Innovation in 2012 and was selected as an eligible university for the Program for Promoting the Enhancement of Research Universities. Through these programs, the Institute for Research Initiatives aims to lead NAIST toward becoming globally recognized research university.
